Mississippi’s current tax system puts an unfair burden on working families, especially in rural counties like Forrest and Lamar. While the state is phasing out income taxes that mostly benefit the wealthy, fuel taxes are rising—hitting our communities the hardest. Johnny DuPree supports a Mississippi Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), the full elimination of the grocery tax, and fair tax policies that invest in schools, roads, and families—not just the rich.
